Griffith Energy offers heating service plans. These plans provide the most comprehensive coverage to date. They are designed to save you money, eliminate surprises and provide you with peace of mind. Our plans are backed by commitments – not just words!

Worry Free Service Plan for Propane Heating Customers

 *This discount does not include parts needed for purposes other than repairs to existing covered appliances. Plan applies to residential propane appliances and covers up to three appliances. Ask us for details.

Service Security Blanket for Propane Appliance Customers

A plan specifically made for the customer concerned about the high costs of labor.

Our Service Security Blanket helps you enjoy year round comfort and security by covering all labor charges on service calls for the repair of all your propane appliances.* For a small cost per day, you can protect yourself from the high cost of emergency calls and repairs.

  • One annual inspection and the service of existing propane gas appliances

  • 24-hour emergency/no heat service — 1-877-927-6488

  • Labor for replacement or repair of heating system components

  • Annual Service — tune-up and safety check, including cleaning heat exchanger area, clean burners and pilot assemblies, adjust air/flames, replace one standard filter and thermocouple as needed, check and adjust all controls, check all belts for wear and tension, leak test of entire system, chimney flue for blockages and inspect/clean pipes to chimney among other item checks

  • All parts needed to repair appliance will be discounted 10%

Spring Tune-up

We feel the best time of year to clean, service and tune-up your heating system is in the spring. Your furnace or boiler has just run for the winter season and is still active. Combustion residues deposited over those winter months can be more easily removed when they haven’t sat all summer. Summer moisture from the more humid air will not be able to “soak” into those deposits if they are gone. And just like your car, a tuned-up heating unit uses fuel more efficiently and therefore saves you money.

When your furnace is getting a workout or your water heater is working overtime, our Worry-Free Service Plan can provide the required maintenance.

The Griffith Premium Worry-Free Service Plan lets you enjoy comfort and security, one annual cleaning and tune-up and all labor on covered components all year long. For a small cost per day, you can protect yourself from the high cost of emergency calls and repairs next heating season.

  • Replacement or repair of heating system components, INCLUDING LABOR (see below)

  • Annual service — furnace tune-up and safety check, including chimney base cleaning and inspection, efficiency testing, and smoke reading among other item checks

Parts and labor covered in the plan: One set standard air filters, fan belt, thermocouple, burner motor & blower motor, igniter/glowbar, fan/limit switch or aquastat, circulator/zone valve for main zone and 24V transformer.

Service Security Blanket for Natural Gas Heating Customers

A plan specifically made for the customer concerned about the high costs of labor.
Our Service Security Blanket helps you enjoy year round comfort and security by covering all labor charges on service calls for the repair of your natural gas furnace or boiler and water heater.  For a small cost per day, you can protect yourself from the high cost of emergency calls and repairs.

One annual inspection and the service of existing natural gas furnace or boiler and a natural gas water heater if present

Labor for repair or replacement of parts on appliances covered under the plan
Annual inspection and the service of existing natural gas central heating and water heating appliances includes (as needed):

Clean the heat exchanger area on the covered appliances, clean burners. clean pilot assemblies, adjust burner(s), lubricate motors where required, check safety controls, check all belts for wear and tension, replace one set of standard air filters on warm air furnace, check for chimney or flue blockages, replace the thermocouple on main heating unit furnace/boiler (and water heater if applicable), conduct a performance test on heating unit

All parts needed to repair appliance will be discounted 10%

Energy Saving Tips

  • Each degree you turn down your thermostat saves about 2-3% of fuel 

  • Getting your heating unit serviced with a tune-up in the spring after a long heating season insures all is ready for next fall; removal of any contaminants inside a combustion chamber can help decrease condensation buildup and retention through the summer and help extend the life of your appliance

  • Combustion efficiency and AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency) are not the same thing;

  • Combustion Efficiency is simply a test and calculation of what the efficiency is while your unit is running

  • AFUE is “the ratio of heat output of the furnace or boiler compared to the total energy consumed by a furnace or boiler”; this would take into account chimney loss and off cycle loss up the chimney

  • US Department of Energy

  • There are still many older burners out there that are just not as efficient as those we have available to us today. Call us to review your equipment and we will give you a free estimate if we see you could benefit from a newer burner or equipment.
